Intel 945G + Core 2 Duo

ASUS should be releasing a new motherboard P5LD2-VM SE based on older Intel 945G which should be compatible with Core 2 Duo CPUs. It is rumoured that the older chipset has been made compatible by using updated VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) module.

This new motherboard should be offering good performace while being cheaper than motherboards based on newer chipsets.
